About TeDCAN
Technology and eDiscovery Canada (TeDCAN) brings together professionals interested in technology related to the legal industry and to provide opportunities for the group to grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, and networking.
History
TeDCAN began in 2011 upon the dissolution of the Toronto Chapter of the U.S. organization, Women in e-Discovery. Unlike in many U.S. cities, Toronto does not have very many legal technology or e-discovery professional organizations, and the membership of WEI-Toronto felt that an organization with a broader reach of members would benefit everyone.
Throughout 2011 and the beginning of 2012, a working group of volunteers put together a draft by-laws and set in motion all the events necessary to officially launch TeDCAN. This was done by a vote to accept the by-laws on April 18, 2012.
Monthly Educational Seminars
Every month, usually on the third Wednesday, TeDCAN members get together for lunch, an informative seminar, and both professional and social networking. Meetings are currently being held at the ILCO Education Centre, 20 Adelaide St. E, Suite 503. Our goal is to arrange an industry sponsor to cover the cost of lunch.
Social Gatherings
In addition to monthly educational seminars, TeDCAN plans social events for its members.
